INVITATION FOR BIDS
STUMPAGE FOR SALE
ON PICAYUNE SCHOOL DISTRICT LANDS

SEALED bids will be received by the Picayune School District Board of Trustees, 706 Goodyear Blvd, Picayune, MS 39466 up to and not later than 1:00 p.m. on April 7th, 2026 at the Picayune School District Board of Trustees located in Picayune, MS. Bids will be received for the purchase on a per-ton basis for all timber, standing or down, designated for harvesting on approximately +130 acres in Section 16, Township 6 South, Range 17 West, Pearl River County, Mississippi. The sale is a pay as cut final harvest on +/-20 acres and an operator select 1st thinning on +/-110 acres as specified in the “Forest Products Sale Contract”. The stand is a hand planted 25 year old pine plantation, with an average merchantable height of 31 feet and an average DBH of 9.2 inches. At present the average basal area is 111 square feet per acre. The timber will be thinned to an average of 65 square feet of basal area per acre. Before bids are submitted, full information concerning the timber, conditions of the sale and submission of bids should be obtained from the Pearl River County Office of the Mississippi Forestry Commission, Poplarville, MS.
